Important Notes and Details

Generative AI is already reshaping how scientists, engineers, and innovation leaders approach research, design, problem-solving, and decision-making. In this webinar, Bill Clancey will explore the scientific, technical, ethical, and business implications of generative AI for R&D organizations, including what these systems reveal about intelligence, creativity, trustworthiness, and human expertise. The conversation will examine how generative AI can be used both creatively and critically—from strengthening prompts and explanations to supporting modeling, simulation, and complex technical work. Participants will leave with a broader framework for thinking about AI not simply as a tool for automation, but as a powerful capability that can augment human judgment, collaboration, and innovation.

Speaker: William J. Clancy, Emeritus Senior Research Scientist, Institute for Human and Machine Cognition
